In November, Útlendingastovan organised the course “Culture, Preconceptions and Child Rearing” with instructors from the Danish Refugee Council.

The course was for professionals, who work with children and families with a different background than Faroese. The course was held over two days where participants learned about topics such as preconceptions and identity, cultural understanding, family and culture, disagreement prevention, and about how migration may affect children and families physically and psychologically.

The course was fully enrolled, and we were pleased to see professional participants from all the Faroes and from different workplaces. The plan is to organise the same course again in early 2022. The course will be advertised on integration.fo and on our Facebook page.
